Will my child play in town or travel....and when ?

In Town
U5/U6/U7 Academy will play on Sundays at Anna Parker or Belmonte Middle School between 12:0pm and 3:00pm.
U8/U10/U12/U14 in town will play on Saturdays at Belmonte Middle School.

Travel Teams
Games played throughout Essex County.  4 games at home/4 games away per season. U10 thru U14 Travel plays games on Saturday/game time varies U16 thru U19 is Spring Season only.  Games are played on Sunday/game time varies.

What team will my child play on?

All players will be notified by their respective coach as to what team they are on. U10 and above must tryout and will be placed on a team appropriate for their skill level, i.e. Select Teams.

When are the practices and how many games?

Practice dates and times are established by the coaches.  Attendance at practices is encouraged, however if there is an occasional conflict, it is the policy of Saugus Youth Soccer that players not be penalized.  Players will participate in all games, no child will be "benched" for not attending a practice.  There are 8 games in each season.

Can I request a team?

Requests can be presented in writing to SYSA or on the registration forms, but they cannot be guaranteed.  The child will be placed in the appropriate age division with equal level players.

What are the registration fees for 2010/2011?

Fees: 3rd child (or more) plays free.  Who pays first?  U-9/U-14 take priority over U-5/U-08



















Registrations must include a 2 x 2 (or smaller) photo of the player. As this is a travel division affiliated with Essex County , players who's forms are received after June 16th cannot be assured a roster spot. Any player making a "select" team is required to register for both seasons.

Other Fees:
$35 per child Late Fee after June 30th (Fall) after December 15th (Spring)

Included in the fee are the costs of insurance coverage, affiliation fees, additional affiliation fees for travel teams, ice packs, first aide kits, goalie shirts & gloves, game balls, referees, field equipment such as nets-flags-paint, Xeroxing costs, postage, registration forms.  At the end of the spring season we host a Soccer Day with food, awards and soccer games.

Any player making a "select" team is required to register for both seasons.   Essex County goes forward and creates the game schedules, by age group, for the upcoming season.  Unfortunately, what will sometimes happen is that a player is undecided and doesn't register before this deadline.  If they decide to register late, we can only place them on an existing team if there is room.  Each age group has a maximum roster set forth by the rules of Essex County.  Sometimes it will work out that we do have a roster spot open, but that's not always the case.   After the deadline date, we cannot change the team count that was sent to Essex County, as they've already scheduled teams, fields, refs, etc.  This brings up another problem, that we may have players who registered on time, but have decided not to play for what ever reason.  Unless our registrar is notified in writing by the parent, we are obligated to retain that players roster spot, which means someone else could be left on the waiting list.  If you have any questions, please drop me an e-mail or leave a message for the registrar at 781-941-8060.
